The world reveals a lot of its secrets when you look at it through a hyperspectral filter. But the world is also a place that’s continuously in motion. And that complicates matters for traditional push-broom cameras that need deterministic linear motion to operate, or hyperspectral scanners that need a fair amount of time to acquire an image.
Real-time snapshot hyperspectral cameras are able to capture videos. That’s essential for situations where:
- motions are unpredictable, such as in surveillance, automotive or medical imaging
- the camera is not stable such as in remote sensing and farming UAVs
- the camera/object is moving in 2D or 3D such as in robotic applications, or in lane sorting
